Raising a Tuckababy

Sunday, September 3rd, 2006

Very soon a great deal of you will be receiving an e-vite to Tuckaberry’s upcoming gala event. Those of you who are not on the email list and would like to be, email me at Tuckaberry@yahoo.com. (For those of you north of the Mason-Dixon line,) if you’re hemming and hawing over whether or not you feel up to coming all the way out to Brooklyn Saturday, September 30th, consider this: This is (for me) the most exciting project we’ve launched so far, for several reasons. Firstly, it’s the first thing we’ve done as an incorporation. Corporate seal, officers, quorum votes, the whole shebang. Also, it’s an effort that really belongs equally to everyone in the company. Every member of the team is taking on huge amounts of work and responsibility, and the outcome will be our first completely collaborative creation thus far. That is more thrilling than any of our previous growing moments. Seriously, this party is going to be fantastic and amazing; it’s not just a quirky marketing technique to call it that. So, whether twenty people come (and we lose our shirts) or a hundred people come (and we actually make back what we’ve spent on this) I will consider this a success because it will mark a huge turning point for Tuckaberry Productions. The company has grown beyond Adam and me; it’s its own entity now, and we’re experiencing a sort of amoebic split. It has become too large to be just a part of us, and now is forming its own little cell, with its own nucleus. As a parent, I couldn’t be prouder. I would love to have everyone there to celebrate the conception, gestation, and birth of our big, bouncing Tuckababy.
